Hong Kong’s Golden Commute

In step with Hong Kong’s transport and infrastructure upgrades, Three continues to expand and strengthen 5G network along key transport routes across the city.

In December 2025, the Central Kowloon Bypass (Yau Ma Tei section) – a 4.7 km express route linking West Kowloon to East Kowloon – officially opened. Three deployed its 5G Golden Spectrum across critical points along the route to deliver high-capacity, stable connectivity for commuters. Extensive road testing ensured seamless HD streaming, video calls and everyday mobile use for Three customers on the move.

This vital link for commuters from the Northwest New Territories now supports lag-free browsing, HD streaming and smooth social media use throughout the journey.

Railways account for about 46% of all public transport trips in Hong Kong every day. Three have implemented various initiatives to enhance the passenger experience. The Kam Sheung Road section of the Tuen Ma Line MTR has also been fully upgraded with Three’s 5G Golden Spectrum. This vital link for commuters from the Northwest New Territories now supports lag-free browsing, HD streaming and smooth social media use throughout the journey.

Since 2024, Three has been activating its 5G Golden Spectrum at some of the city’s busiest MTR stations, including Central, Admiralty and Tsim Sha Tsui, boosting peak-hour capacity where it matters most. In total, 24 stations across Hong Kong are set for upgrade, with completion scheduled for 2027.

Customer feedback is our top priority. In a survey conducted by market research agency Human8 in August 2025, over 90% of interviewed Three customers expressed satisfaction with network quality.
